About Bookish

Bookish is a directory of book clubs that meet in person across the United States. Finding one shouldn't take an evening of searching library calendars and bookstore newsletters, so we gather them in one place.

Where listings come from

Listings come from the public event pages of libraries and independent bookstores. We read those pages slowly and politely, follow each site's robots.txt and terms, and store only the basics: the club's name, city, genre and meeting rhythm as published, plus a link to the source and the date we last saw it. We don't collect anyone's personal email address or phone number, and we never show a venue or address: our pages and map are city-level only. Exact place and time are shared only with members a host approves.

Clubs change. Always check the source page, linked on every listing, for the current book and date.

Fix or remove a listing

If you host a club, claim it and we'll update it with you. If you'd like a listing removed, use the same form and say so in the message. We'll take it down.
